Aden Gutiérrez
is a multidisciplinary artist who creates art mostly through photography and writing. He is a first year undergraduate student at the University of California, Berkeley. He is working towards two Bachelor’s degrees— in English and media studies.

Photography
Aden’s photography style can be described as conceptual and stark. He often creates works that tell a story beyond the image, as seen in “Flighted.” However, he does not avoid classic portrait and landscape shoots. Aden primarily works with film, as he believes film photography achieves an immersive and pure form of art digital cameras cannot capture. Aden is knowledgable in the fields of digital photography, film photography, photoshop, and film developing. Many of his favorite pieces were developed in his home studio. Apart from personal photography, Aden is a photography team leader for Garb Fashion Club at UC Berkeley.
Writing
Aden’s greatest literary inspirations are Joan Didion and Sylvia Plath. His favorite works to create are essays and poetry, as he believes they best reflect his writing style. Uniquely, Aden is fascinated with grammar; he finds utilizing grammar to be one of the most enjoyable parts of writing. He is a copy editor for The Daily Californian, as well as an intern for The Fig Tree Magazine.
Fashion
Aden is a self-proclaimed fashionphile. Fashion is one of his favorite avenues of self-expression and artistic vision. Fashion is an outlet through which Aden creates stories and visual art. Aden acts as the stylist for most of his works.
